We are excited to announce the launch of the Belize Roadkill Project, hosted on the iNaturalist platform! This innovative citizen science initiative aims to document and understand the impact of roadways on wildlife in Belize.

Every year, countless animals fall victim to traffic, but with your help, we can gather valuable data to promote human-wildlife road safety and wildlife conservation. The Belize Roadkill Project encourages participants to report wildlife roadkill sightings using iNaturalist, a user-friendly application that allows anyone to contribute observations. Your contributions will help map hotspots, identify vulnerable species, and inform future road management strategies.
To get involved, simply create an account on iNaturalist.org, join the Belize Roadkill Project, and start submitting your observations. Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply on a drive, each report can make a significant impact. You can download the iNaturalist app for your phone as well – making it easy to take and upload pictures.
Join us in our mission to protect Belize’s unique biodiversity and create safer roadways for both wildlife and humans. Together, we can turn roadkill data into meaningful change!
